Wochenrückblick

Drei Mal dürft Ihr raten, was ich gestern Nachmittag gemacht habe ;) ich habe den Bezug für das Betthaupt genäht! Es ist ziemlich schick geworden, wenn ich das selbst sagen darf. Ich überlege nur, ob ich noch Klettband montiere, damit an der Rückseite der Stoff nicht so am unteren Ende absteht (er geht bis unten, um die Faserplatte und den angetackerten Stoff zu verdecken). Aber das kann noch warten...

Do you know, what I did last afternoon? I sewed a cover for my bedhead! It turned out really well, if I might say so myself. The only thing left to do, is putting some velcro on the bottom of the backside so it clings better to the board. (The fabric comes down to the ground to cover the MDF board and tacked fabric on the backside.) But this can wait...


Außerdem habe ich die Knopfleisten der blauen Bluse noch Mal genäht. Beide standen unten leicht nach außen ab und das störte mich. Und neuerdings nehme ich dann tatsächlich den Nahttrenner in die Hand und mache es noch Mal. Ich werde offenbar anspruchsvoller gegenüber mir selbst.

Another thing I did last week was sewing the button bands on the blue blouse again. Both of them were twisting to the outside a bit and this annoyed me more and more each day. But actually taking the seam ripper and doing it all over again is new for me. I seem to be developing a higher demand for quality against myself.


Und auch Strickjacke hat inzwischen einen kurzen Ärmel, der noch wächst, mal sehen, wie lang. Denn die Wolle neigt sich dem Ende. Ich hatte bevor ich die Ärmel begonnen habe noch 3 ganze Knäule gehabt. Das ist auch alles, was mein Handarbeitsladen von dieser Partie hatte. Mein Plan ist momentan erstmal je ein Knäul pro Arm um eines für die Blenden/Kragen zu reservieren und zu sehen, wie weit ich komme. Dann werde ich Garn der gleichen Farbe nachordern und damit das mehr oder weniger lange Ärmelbündchen stricken. Ich hoffe, durch den Musterwechsel wird der Unterschied nicht zu offensichtlich. Da ich die Ärmel von oben stricke geht das. Glück gehabt.

And even the cardigan has a short sleeve by now. It is still growing longer. How long depends on the wool. It will not be enough for the whole cardi it now seems. There were only 3 balls left before I began the arm and that's all the yarn of this colour my LYS had. So I planned on saving one ball for the buttonbands and collar and using one each for each sleeve. I started the sleeve from top to buttom so I can knit until I run out of yarn. On this point I will get some new wool of this colour but supposedly not the same dye lot, so this will be the start of the ribbing. I am hoping that the change of pattern will hide the change of dye lots.
