DVD-Abende

In der letzten Woche gab es neben Theater- und Open-Airkinobesuchen auch zwei DVD-Abende mit Freunden, die mithalfen, die grüne Strickjacke wachsen zu lassen. So sieht sie jetzt aus:

Last week I wasn't only going out to theatre or Open-Air-Cinema but also staying in two evenings to watch DVDs with friends. Those two days helped a lot to nourish the growth of the green cardigan. This is how far it is now:

Für den Kragen habe ich die Zöpfe vom Vorderteil weitergeführt und hinten zusammengestrickt. Da ich Angst hatte, die Wolle könnte nicht reichen, wenn ich noch Blenden vorn anstricken muss, habe ich schon mal den passenden Reißverschluss besorgt und ihn probehalber eingeheftet. Die Jacke wirkte vorn so eng, obwohl sie hinten passte. Das Rückenteil hat zwar sogar weniger Maschen, aber ich traute meinen Berechnungen nicht mehr. Daher also das "Elefantenarm-Foto" vom Sonntag Abend. Ergebnis: sie passt! Ein My eng zwar, aber das bessert sich hoffentlich nach dem ersten Bad. (So langsam kommt das Vertrauen in meine Berechnungen wieder.) Eine große Überraschung war allerdings der Zweiwegereißverschluss! 11,95€ hat das Ding gekostet! Ich habe für einen Moment mit dem Gedanken gespielt, eine Jacke für 9,95 zu kaufen und dann so ein Ding rauszutrennen. Verrückte Welt!

Das heisst, die Jacke bekommt doch lange Ärmel. Obwohl mir die 3/4-Länge schon sehr gefällt. Aber praktisch ist sie nicht. Vor allem nicht bei so einem warmen Kleidungsstück.

I picked up the big front cables and brought them back around to form a kind of collar. They were knit together in the center back. My fear of not having enough wool to complete the cardigan as I planned culminated in a last minute buy of a zipper. I basted it in to see if I had to save yarn for a button band (zipper band?). I don't as you could see in the picture of the giant arm last sunday. It's a tad snug but this will hopefully relax a bit after the first wash. I start to regain trust in my calculations. The big surprise in this business was the zipper. It did cost me the amazing amount of 11,95€! Which had me thinking for a moment I could also buy something new for 9,95 and rip out the damn thing. Crazy world!

The good news is that there will be long sleeves! I am really fond of 3/4 length sleeves but in a garnment that warm I fear they won't work.

Die Filme? "The Dark Knight" und "Shutter Island". Beide sind sehr zu empfehlen und gegen Ende ziemlich vom Gestrick ablenkend...

And the films? "The Dark Knight" and "Shutter Island". Both are really worth seeing and sooner or later they both were distracting me from my knitting.
