Wochenrückblick am Samstag

Das gibt es Neues: die Strickjacke ist fertig gestrickt, verstopft, geblockt und bekommt gerade einen Reißverschluss eingenäht. Mit der Hand, das kann dauern... und nach dem großartigen Tutorial von Grumperina. Sie ist übrigens wie gehofft nach dem ersten Bad gewachsen :). Ich kann es eigentlich kaum erwarten, sie endlich anzuziehen, auch wenn das Wetter hier grad wieder besser wird.

Damit ich nicht ganz auf dem Trockenen sitze, habe ich mit einem Projekt aus "A Stitch in Time" begonnen. Noch nicht mit einem der Pullis, sondern mit "Lacy Gloves". Ein paar Handschuhen für den Übergang. Die passende Wolle dafür kommt aus dem geschenkten Vorrat vom letzten Jahr und ist ein französischer Woll/Acryl-Mix in einem schönen Weinrot. Gestern Abend begonnen und schon habe ich ein paar cm Bündchen. Ich bin schon gespannt, wie das Muster funktioniert, denn das ist das erste Mal, dass ich Handschuhe flach auf 2 Nadeln stricke...

Mal sehen, was ich als Nächstes nähe. (Über die Sporthose, mein super Turbo-Projekt habe ich ja hier schon ausreichend ausführlich geschrieben.) Erstmal habe ich den dunkelblauen Wollmischstoff vom Frühjahr und den schwarzen elastischen Hosenstoff vorgewaschen. Der schwarze Hosenstoff entpuppte sich dabei nicht nur als Kauf vom 27.10.1997 (!) für den stolzen Preis von 53,82 DM (26€) für 1,8m sondern auch als wollhaltig. Definitiv mehr als die 30% des dunkelblauen Stoffes, den ich zuerst für diesen Geruch verantwortlich machen wollte... Ich hatte schon mit süßen 18 einen teuren/guten Geschmack.

What happened last week: I finished knitting my green cardi, wove in the ends, blocked it and am now in the mids of sewing in the zipper. By hand, this will take a bit of time...I am using this great tutorial by grumperina. By the way the cardi has grown after it's first bath. :) I really can't wait to wear it, even if the weather is having a few last nice days now.

I can't have no project on my needles so I started a project from "A Stitch in Time". Not one of the jumpers I wrote about but a nice pair of gloves. "Lacy Gloves" seem to be just right for autumn wear. The yarn is from the present stash of last year and is a french wool/acrylic blend in a nice shade of wine red. I started them last evening and they are already a few cm long. I really want to see how they will knit up to be gloves as they are the first gloves that I'm knitting flat.

I still don't have settled on a new project to sew. (I already wrote about the last fast project -sports pants- in detail here.) In preparation I prewashed the navy woll blend fabric I bought in spring and the black elastic trouser fabric today. The black fabric revealed itself not only as having been bought on 27.10.1997 (!) for the price of 53.82 DM (now 26€) for 1.8 metres but also as containing wool, too. Definitely more than the 30% of the navy fabric, which I first blamed for the distinctive smell... Even when I was sweet 18, I had this expensive/good taste for fabric.
