Wochenrückblick

The hat made some progress last week even though I had to rip out a couple of rounds because I miscalculated it a bit. And it's about time, too, because winter made its comeback right at my front door.

In der letzten Woche bin ich mit der Mütze ganz gut voran gekommen, auch wenn ich ein paar Runden auftrennen musste, weil ich mich ein kleines bisschen verrechnet hatte. Und so langsam wird es Zeit, denn der Winter ist wieder da und das direkt vor meiner Haustür.


I also finally have a new serious sewing project: a new dress. I just got it in my had that I needed a new colourful dress to up my spirits. So I took out some of the fabric that got handed down to me by a neighbor of my parents. It's a very vivid blueish green polyester crepe. And it's going to be the 106 dress for burda 9/2008, which has a very retro vibe. I'm not too sure if it's going to suit me so I'm going to make a muslin first. If the A-line skirt is not the thing I can still remove it for a dirndl. Last night I made the first step by copying the pattern. Next on the list are a FBA and the muslin.

Ich habe auch endlich wieder etwas Richtiges zu nähen: ein neues Kleid. Ich hatte letzte Woche auf einmal das Bedürfnis nach einem farbenfrohen Kleid um mich bei diesem drögen Wetter etwas aufzumuntern. Ich werde einen der Stoffe  nehmen, die ich von einer Nachbarin meiner Eltern geschenkt bekommen habe: einen knallig blau-grünen Polyester-Crepe. Für den Schnitt fiel meine Wahl auf die Nummer 106 aus der Burda 9/2008, das sehr retro aussieht. Ich bin mir allerdings nicht so ganz sicher, ob er mir steht, deshalb werde ich erstmal ein Probemodell nähen. Falls der Rockteil mir doch nicht zusagt, werde ich ihn einfach gegen eine angereihten austauschen. Genug Stoff dafür habe ich. Gestern Abend habe ich erstmal den Schnitt kopiert. Als nächstes sind dann eine FBA und das Probemodell dran.
