Wochenrückblick

Heute Nachmittag war ich mit einer Freundin in der Ausstellung High Sixties Fashion in der Kunstbibliothek Berlin. Wie immer galt: kleiner Raum, aber oho. Die schwarz-weiß Fotografien und Zeichnungen waren in ihrer Fülle wirklich beeindruckend. Als Ergänzung gab es Strümpfe und Single-Cover zu sehen.

Wir hatten das Glück, in den Genuss einer kostenlose (!) Führung zu kommen. Und unsere Führerin hat diese spannende Ära auf unterhaltsame Art und Weise lebendig werden lassen. Nicht nur, weil sie erklärte, weshalb der Siegeszug von Strumpfhose und Minirock nur miteinander denkbar waren (auch heute noch recht offensichtlich), sondern auch die kleinen Skurrilitäten wie diese eigenartige Posen in Hosen (um zu unterstreichen, dass dies ein zweigeteiltes Kleidungsstück ist) oder eben die Angst, dass Strumpfhosen viel zu warm sein könnten. Heute kennt man das ja eher umgekehrt als Vorbehalt gegen Strümpfe und Hüfthalter...

Alles in allem eine sehr schöne kleine Ausstellung. Vor allem empfehlenswert Sonntags um 14:00 zur öffentlichen und kostenlosen Führung.

Today I visited an exibition of High Sixties Fashion in the Kunstbibliothek of Berlin. Like always: the is small, but smashing! The black-and-white pictures and drawings have been numerous and impressive. In addition the exhibition showed stockings and single covers.


This afternoon we were lucky to be part of a free (!) guided tour. Our guide really brought life to this fascinating era with her entertaining anecdotes. She explained not only why the success of miniskirt and tights were only possible with each other (still quite obvious), but also the little oddities like those strange posing in trousers (to show it actually is a garment with two legs) or even the fear of women that tights might be much to warm. Today we rather know this prejudice the other way round as a fear against stockings and a garter...


It's a nice little exhibition and I really recommend going there on a sunday at 14:00 to take part in one of the free guided tours.

Über den Fortschritt der Bluse habe ich ja schon im Laufe der Woche geschrieben. Fotos gibt es leider immer noch nicht, denn das das Wetter war diese Woche leider immer noch unbeschreiblich mies. Gestern habe ich sogar wieder die Heizung angestellt. Mitte Mai!!! Heute Nachmittag ließ sich dann endlich mal wieder die Sonne blicken. :)

I have already written about the progress with my blue blouse this week. There are still no pictures because of the incredible bad weather here. I even reactivated the heating yesterday. In mid May!!! This afternoon the sun was finally making an appearance again. :)

Ich habe mich deshalb etwas selbst aufgemuntert mit einem neuen Nagellack. Farblich passend zu meiner Liesl. Beides hat am Donnerstag den ersten "Ausgang" gehabt. In der Hoffnung, dass sich der Frühling davon überzeugen lassen würde. Mit nicht messbarem Erfolg. Dafür habe ich dann festgestellt, dass die Lackfarbe auch ziemlich gut zu meinem Rad passt und ich damit bestimmt auch mal Lackschäden ausbessern könnte. ;)

I made myself a little present: a new nailpolish to match Liesl. Both got their first outing on thursday. I hoped to lure spring out of its hiding with it. Needless to say that there was no significant success. On the bright side I found out that the polish also matches my bicycle. So I will be able to repair minor defects in future. ;)

Ansonsten sind immerhin die Söckchen verstopft.

I also finally found some time to weave in the ends of the babysocks.
