There and back again

Ich bin wieder zurück und auch fast wieder ganz angekommen. Der Urlaub war wundervoll, und ich muss mich noch durch eine ganze Menge Bilder wühlen.

Als Souvenir hatte ich eine nette Erkältung im Gepäck (eigentlich nicht verwunderlich nach 2 Wochen schottischen Wetters, wenn es nicht super gewesen wäre) als ich am Freitag Abend in der Hitze landete. Als wären über 30°C und eine Erkältung nicht genug mir jeglichen Elan zu nehmen, ist meine treue Nähmaschine noch immer in Reparatur...

Aber genug gejammert... ich habe den heutigen Tag damit vertrieben, mein blaues Kleid um gute 20cm zu kürzen. Ich konnte mich nicht dazu bringen, den Stoff abzuschneiden, deshalb habe ich mit der Hand gesäumt. Das hat zwar gute 2 Stunden gedauert, dafür ging es auf dem Balkon. Zumindest solange es noch nicht zu heiß war. Ich finde, es ist ganz schick geworden, oder? Auf jeden Fall sehr viel sommerlicher.

I'm back and almost settled in. The holiday was just great. I still have to sort through the pictures, though.

I arrived back on friday evening having a fine cold (perhaps no wonder after two weeks of scottish weather, if it hadn't been really nice) finding myself inmidst a blazing heat wave (we topped 30°C)! And if this wasn't enough to knock me out of stride, my sewing mashine is still away waiting to be repaired...

But enough whining... I spent today shortening my blue polka dot dress a good 20 cm. I did it by hand as I couldn't bring myself do cut the fabric. It took my around 2 houres. First on my balcony and later inside when the heat and sunshine became to much for me. What do you think? Nice isn't it? And definitely more like summer.
