Auf die Spitze

... habe ich es wohl doch nicht getrieben, das Ampelmännchen. Das wird sich im Muster ändern müssen. So eine mittelgroße Männerhand ist doch ganz schön lang. Und so ein proportionales Ampelmännchen ziemlich quadratisch. Das hätte ich mir wohl denken können. Aber beim nächsten/roten Mann wird alles besser. Und der ist schon in der Produktion. Das Bündchen ist fertig, jetzt geht es ans Muster.

I didn't push the little Ampelmann to the top. On the contrary: by completely ignoring the fact that the average male hand is quite long and a Ampelmännchen in proportion rather square, I placed the green one on the base of the mitten - resulting a lot of free space at the top. I really should have thought of that. But everything will get better with the next/red man. And I am already knittig it. The cuff is finished.

Grünes Wochenende

Ich war produktiv und das grüne Ampelmännchen ist fertig! Es fehlen nur noch ein paar Zentimeter Spitze und der Daumen zum ganzen Handschuh. Der Grund ist einfach: die Kombination aus einer längeren Zugfahrt ins Grüne und, dass das Seitenverhältnis des Musters endlich stimmt. Der Ampelmann hat die richtigen Proportionen! Da flutschte das Stricken so richtig.

Hier ein kleiner Vorgeschmack:

I finally finished the green Ampelmännchen! There are just a few centimetres and the thumb left to a whole mitten! The reason for my progress? A trip to the country by train and the finally working pattern! The Ampelmann has the right proportions! This made my knitting fly on the needles.
